TESTIMONIALS

What clients say about Kitty

Every review is a real person, a real appointment, and a result that spoke for itself.

I’ve been seeing Kitty for a while now and she’s honestly amazing! Every time I come in with a random Pinterest design, she absolutely nails it. Her work is always flawless, and somehow her prices are still the most affordable in the North Shore — without ever compromising on quality. She also makes waxing so comfortable with blankets, pillows, snacks, good music, and great conversation. It’s such a chill, welcoming vibe every single time. Couldn’t recommend her enough!

Kitty did a great job of my nails, I’m super happy with the shape and colour. She was a pleasure to sit and talk to and was very professional. I would recommend getting your nails done by Kitty as she does a fabulous job and takes all your needs into consideration.

Kitty has a knack for doing brows! Never have I had someone be able to do my brows as well as Kitty

Kitty is always a sure bet! Her work is impeccable—clean and precise. I was unsure about the design, but she was incredibly helpful and understanding, guiding me to the perfect choice. The final result is simply magnificent.

FAQ

Your questions answered

How often should I get my nails done?

Faq Question Open Icon

Initially we recommend returning at 2 to 2.5 weeks so any early issues can be caught and assessed. Once the durability of your nails has been established, appointments can be extended to every 3 to 4 weeks. We do not recommend leaving it longer than 4 weeks — even if your nails look intact, ongoing growth and daily impact can compromise retention and lead to problems before your next visit.

How do I know which gel is right for my lifestyle?

Faq Question Open Icon

Lifestyle is the main factor. At your first appointment, we will ask about how you use your hands day to day and observe how your nails wear over the following visits. We generally recommend starting with hard gel to build strength, then reassessing at your follow-up, which should be around 2 to 2.5 weeks later.

Do I need to take a break from getting my nails done?

Faq Question Open Icon

No. This is a common misconception. The grown-out portion of your nail is not living tissue and does not need oxygen to stay healthy. Nail health comes from within — staying hydrated and well-nourished has far more impact than taking a break. Keep up with your appointments and let your nail technician take care of the rest.

Can I get gel nails if I've had an allergic reaction before?

Faq Question Open Icon

In most cases, yes. It is important to share your history with your nail technician so the right precautions can be taken. A common solution is switching to HEMA-free products, as HEMA is the ingredient most often responsible for gel-related irritations. Choosing the right product for your skin can make a significant difference.

What is the difference between soft gel and hard gel nails?

Faq Question Open Icon

There is no right or wrong answer — it depends on the individual. Both gels protect and strengthen the natural nail, but they behave differently. Soft gel is more flexible and moves with the nail, making it versatile for most lifestyles. Hard gel is rigid and durable, better suited to those who are tough on their hands. Your nail technician will help determine which is right for you.
